Ahhh What to say, what to say?
Well, this is my family:
The Jude is a little over 1 year old now. He was born on Elvis' birthday, and it shows. This guy knows how to move and groove...although he's picked up well from his mom. The Rob is my best friend and wife. She has the best critical and encouraging eye in all my design efforts (although she'll attach at the end of every statement..."but you're the artist, I don't know design"). She knows more than she thinks. Next in the picture is me, and I'll say more about myself below. The Frank is our spunky Weim. She puts the crunk del-a-crunk in the word crazy. Besides, "She a 3rd Rot-whyla."
Who Am I?
I'm 29 years old. I am plagued (in a good way) by an active imagination. I am constantly creating. For example, I am currently working on an album of my songs, a fantasy adventure novel, a screenplay, a children's book, a series of large scale drawings called "flashlight-fiction," and forming a 501 c3 non-profit for arts and the poor. Oh, and I almost finished my Christmas play this year. I love design and communication. I like deep conversations where you can cut through the crap and really get down to life. I drive a scooter. I love coffee. Bob Dylan is my hero and sometimes the Beatles make me cry. I'm an Apple enthusiast. And, I love to read and learn.
My Process
I love image making. I always have. When I approach a design, I get out my pencil and a large pad of paper and go to town cranking out as many thumbnails as possible without the "editor" in my brain stifling the process. I like to start with the freedom of my imagination. Music, nature, recent conversations, stories and movies all create this sort of "monkey pool" (to quote Patty Griffin) of a muse. I pull things out of this pool and play with it, push it, pull it, etc. until the final form emerges.
